We all experienced a lot of changes during the lockdown and in the months following it as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. For most of us who are working, that has meant a significant increase in the number of video meetings we’ve been having.
One perhaps unexpected side effect of all of this time spent on video conferences is that there has been a boom in interest in cosmetic dentistry.
Dentistry.co.uk reported that many dental practices have seen more people asking about cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening following lockdown.
Why has this stemmed from lockdown and a rise in Zoom meetings? It’s because we’re spending more time looking at ourselves on screen than we ever have in the past.
However, dentist Dr Jan Einfeldt said that she has noticed another reason why people are enquiring about cosmetic treatments at the moment – that they have a bit more money available due to cancelled holidays and are therefore looking to spend some of that on fixing their teeth instead.
Among the treatments that people are choosing to spend money on are teeth whitening, teeth straightening, veneers and crowns.
Dr Nishan Dixit, president of the BACD, agreed that there has been a rise in the number of people looking into cosmetic treatments. “Before lockdown, I think a lot of people were deciding whether to have cosmetic dental work done and have been motivated to proceed, rather than put it off any longer.”
One option you may also want to look into are cerec veneers, and you can speak to us about what this treatment involves.
As the Times Connection recently pointed out, white veneers can be a good investment because they can give you a beautiful white smile that looks natural.
